Rispond Estate
lies on the north coast of Scotland overlooking Loch Eriboll with over
15,000 acres of stalking ground and a productive spate river;
The Polla which runs
down Strathbeg and flows into the south end of Loch Eriboll.
The estate has exclusive fishing rights on the lower 2½ miles
of the river, which can provide excellent salmon and sea trout fishing
given good water conditions. Prime fishing takes place from the west
bank on the bottom mile of the river including the productive sea pool.
Fishing is by fly only, with a single handed rod being entirely adequate.
Rispond provides
some excellent stalking, with open hill for red deer, and occasional
woodland stalking for roe,red and sika.
Accommodation is available in a traditional cottage lying close to the
river, half a mile upstream from the estuary. Accommodation consists
of two twin bedded rooms (one is walk through) and living area with an
oil fired Raeburn. Also attached is a large rod drying/deep freeze room.
Alternative bed and breakfast accommodation may be available in Durness.
