Hilton is a beautiful house part dating from the 18th century, and situated in a magnificent parkland setting, next to a loch (with boat), with the backdrop of the Glen Affric hills, secluded but not isolated, and just 50 minutes from Inverness. The historic Guisachan Estate has been host to many distinguished visitors, including Prime Ministers Gladstone and Churchill.
Hilton Lodge
The accommodation is warm and comfortable sleeping fourteen. There is a four-poster bed, a large cedar panelled drawing room with upright piano, study, games room with satellite t.v. and video, dining room and large kitchen with aga. The drawing room, study and dining room have open fires (logs provided).
Fishing
There are two large hill lochs with islands and boats which produce good catches of brown trout. There is also a loch in front of the house, with a boat, holding good sized trout. Ghillies are available by prior
arrangement, as is salmon and sea trout fishing on the rivers Glass, Beauly and Farrar.
Stalking
Red deer stalking is available for one rifle from September onwards.
Other interests
There are beautiful walks through the estate's fine 150 acre park, and nearby Caledonian pine forests, with two magnificent waterfalls, and, for the more energetic, several Munros within easy striking distance. Clay pigeon shooting, golf, canoeing, archery and gorge walking are among the activities that can be arranged. Tenants may find a four wheel drive vehicle an advantage for getting to and from the hill lochs.
