Grand Country House accommodation for up to 20
Drenagh is one of the great late Georgian Estates of the North West of Ireland. This beautiful neo classical country house is set in 1000 acres of parkland and lies between two tributaries of the River Roe in some of the most fertile farmland in Ireland..
Accommodation Drenagh can accommodate up to 20 guests in 10 rooms, all with their own bathrooms. The main reception rooms offer a magnificent and relaxed setting for anything from shooting and fishing parties to conferences and formal banquets. In addition to the morning room, library, drawing room, 2 dining rooms and billiard room, there is a games room, a home cinema, an indoor pool, spa facilities and a children’s nursery. The staff will include a butler, cook, household staff and chauffeur.
The farm has been in organic production for over 10 years and this is reflected in the cuisine. Every effort is made to support local and organic producers by sourcing the meat and vegetables used in the kitchen from the region.
Shooting Driven pheasant shooting is available (minimum 200 bird days) from October to the end of January. The drives are laid out to make the best use of the topography including the river valleys. Arrangements with neighbouring estates give guests the opportunity of additional days shooting at pheasant, partridge, woodcock, snipe and duck using Drenagh as a base. Fishing There is excellent saltwater and freshwater fishing in the area: Salmon and Sea Trout on the Rivers Roe, Faughan, Bann, Owenkillew, Mourne and Finn; Wild Brown Trout on hill loughs throughout the Sperrin Mountains; huge (20lbs plus) Rainbow Trout can be caught in the nearby Stone Falls fishery and some truly exciting sport can be had fly fishing for Sea Bass and Mullet in the Bann Estuary. A guide is available daily or weekly. Golf and other activities Withn 20 minutes drive are 6 golf courses, including Royal Portrush, 4 Blue Flag beaches and countless restaurants and bars to sample some classic Irish hospitality. Getting There Drenagh is a short distance from the historic walled City of Derry. For guests arriving in passenger or private jets, Drenagh is only 8 miles from City of Derry Airport and around 40 miles from both Belfast airports. Helicopter transfers or airport collection in a Range Rover (or similar car) can also be arranged.
